La Casa Mariposa is a new, large clean condominium unit located in the heart of the Mayan Riviera in Puerto Aventuras and more specifically, the Villa del Mar condominium complex.

La Casa Mariposa is owned by Tom and Arlene Stoelting of Wasilla, Alaska. " ... we fell in love with the Mayan Riviera on the Mexican Caribbean while vacationing in Akumal on the Yucatan Peninsula (about 60 miles south of Cancun) While there, we found Puerto Aventuras, a wonderful beach, golf and marina resort just outside of Playa del Carmen (www.puertoaventuras.com.mx) This development which is only about a 40 minute drive from Cancun boasts wonderful restaurants, shops, the Omni Hotel, dolphin swim, and a beautiful marina. It is a growing and a progressive development."

Roads in this part of Mexico are excellent. As a visitor, you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Cancun, yet close enough for a night out on the town if you wish. And Playa del Carmen (We call it "little Cancun") a mere 15 minute drive away as well. Not as big and crazy as Cancun, but some great shopping, clubs ... and ... the ferry can be caught to Cozumel for more adventure.

We named our condo La Casa Mariposa (the "butterfly house") as Alaskans and most northerners love to fly away to warmer climates during the winter months.

This is a 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath unit which can be rented as a 2 bedroom 2.5 bath and/or a hotel-type suite with bath (that room has its own private entrance as well as access from the main unit.) This condo consists of 2,179 square feet. The living room, kitchen, patio, and third bedroom are located on the third floor of the D Building, Villa del Mar in Puerto Aventuras. The master and second bedroom is located on the fourth floor for added privacy. The partially covered large patio and hot tub overlook the huge swimming pool and has a beach view. This unit is just a short walk to a lovely sandy beach which is great for swimming, snorkeling or those relaxing walks.

This is our home away from home and want it to be comfortable for ourselves and our many guests from Alaska, the rest of the United States, Mexico and hopefully from around the world.

This unit has 3 television sets, two with VCR/DVD players. Cable channels are limited but we get good reception on all of them.

The patio is comfortable and spacious. One can easily get a great tan on the lounges provided.

The jacuzzi tub can comforably fit 5 people. We keep it empty until our guests decide to use it and fill it up with the water temperature which is comfortable to them.

And the pool and the beach are beautiful and very convenient, even for small children.

Additionally, there are a number of eco parks such as excaret and xel ha and ceyones for snorkeling as well as many other fun activities everyone in the family. Puerto Aventuras is located in the heart of the Mayan Riviera, a 72 stretch of sun, sand and beaches from Cancun to Tulum, which includes eco parks, sun, sand, resorts, mayan ruins, history, culture, shopping, boating, fishing, scuba diving, and many, many more activities.

This 3 bedroom can be rented as a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath unit as we can lock off if our guests do not need the 3rd bedroom with the twin beds.

During the holiday season, we will rent out the condo as a 3 bedroom only.

Housekeeping / beach towels are included in the rental. A washer/drier is provided for the housekeeper to do linen and towels and as a courtesy for our guests.

NO SMOKING / NO PETS.

There is no elevator to this unit which is on the 3rd floor.

There is so much to do and see at Puerto Aventuras. Golf, visiting the harbor, swimming with the dolphins, fishing, snorkeling, swimming, enjoying the eco-parks nearby, walking, shopping, eating at great restaurants. And the activities that are not on-site such as the ruins (Tulum, Coba, Chechen Itza), Xel-Ha, Excaret, and a multitude of others, are within driving, shuttle or taxi distance. There are many tour operators on site who do a great job of introducing you to this wonderful part of Mexico. VIEW FROM THE PATIO. We overlook the magnificent Villa del Mar pool and courtyard. The ocean can be seen from the patio and from the master bedroom. I CALL THIS "TWO GRINGOS IN A JACUZZI TUB" Here I am (La Mariposa) and my brother Al enjoying a few moments in the tub! The tub can fit 5 - 6 people comfortably (or more -- uncomfortably!!!) ANOTHER VIEW OF THE JACUZZI TUB (sans the two gringos!) ... THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PATIO. As you can probably tell, the partially covered patio with jacuzzi tub is huge. It is comfortable for that morning coffee or evening relaxation. DINING ROOM. It actually is larger than it looks. The dining room comfortably seats 6 and is bright and colorful for your dining pleasure. FULLY-STOCKED KITCHEN with complimentary water jugs, appliances, refrigerator, and stove. A COMFORTABLE LIVING ROOM awaits you with couch, love seat and rocker chair. A large television with cable TV and combination DVD/VHS player makes the scene complete. MASTER BEDROOM UPSTAIRS. This room has a full-sized bath with shower/tub, a desk, bookshelf, television and combination DVD/VHS player and a great view of the beach. This is the other end of the master bedroom, looking toward the entrance to the bathroom / closet. Features a cathedral ceiling, desk, comfortable reading chair and television with DVD/VHS player. Not seen in this photo is a bookshelf with books (Leave SECOND BEDROOM UPSTAIRS: This bedroom has a king-sized bed AND a comfortable futon which folds out into a full-sized bed when needed. A full bath complements this room. THE SUITE: This bedroom is downstairs on the main level and has two twin beds and a full bathroom. We can lock this room off if not needed by our guests. THE BEACH.
