Villas del Sol, "Houses in the Sun", is a comfortable, new, modern little complex of 7 villas located in Bucerias, Mexico, just 12 miles north of the Puerto Vallarta airport. Come, join us where complete relaxation is yours at Villas del Sol--where you will arrive as a guest and leave as a friend!

Completely walled and gated for privacy and security, this cozy little retreat consists of seven, two bedroom, two bath villas and one "studio" efficiency suite, all individually decorated and furnished and in the traditional Mexican style. Villas del Sol offers affordable, inviting and comfortable accommodation set in the Puerto Vallarta sun.

The two bedroom units have either two queen beds, or a combination of one queen and two twin beds. With two bathrooms with full sized showers, each of the two bedroom villas comfortably accommodates a maximum of four persons.

Well appointed kitchens have everything needed to make you feel at home. Each villa is complete with fridge, stove with oven, microwave, toaster, blender, cooking and eating utensils and more--everything you need to prepare a full meal or a simple snack! The individual units at Villas del Sol provide an open air sitting area perfect for dining and relaxing on the traditional Mexican styled furniture.

The single, "studio" or efficiency suite is perfect for two people. The studio unit is equipped with a large bed, bath with shower, eating and sitting area. The kitchen area has everything except a range, but it does have a hot plate--you just won't be able to bake cookies in this villa! The studio unit offers a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster and blender and comes complete with cooking and eating utensils.

The refreshing pool is just steps away from your villa, and there is a rooftop hot tub where you can relax with a glass of wine and catch a Magnificent Mexicolour Sunset. There are shaded areas and lounge chairs on the pool deck where you can relax with a good book, enjoy a quiet visit with other guests, or take a relaxing snooze while you soak up the Mexican sun.

A cabana area near the pool is complete with BBQ grill, sink, stove, and preparation area if you want to have a barbeque by the pool, or perhaps you prefer to grill your feast at the refreshment centre and return to your nearby unit to enjoy your meal in the privacy of your own villa.

Bottled water is provided and with maid service every day but Sunday, you will find the units at Villas de Sol "sparkling clean".

With easy access to many good restaurants in Bucerias and five miles of white sandy beach only a short stroll away, Bucerias has everything needed for that perfect tropical vacation in the sun.

Walk a block and a half up to the main road and hop a bus to downtown Puerto Vallarta. Shop till you drop, stop for a delicious meal then board a bus for the half hour ride back to your comfortable, safe and clean retreat at Villas del Sol. With excellent bus service close by it is not necessary to rent a car.

The resident owner/manager will greet you and look after your needs while you do nothing but enjoy your vacation in paradise. Originally from Oklahoma, Innkeeper John Ed Lee has lived in Bucerias for many years and offers a wealth of information about the area. He can arrange car rental for you and he can even contact a masseuse to come to your villa so you can enjoy a massage in the comfort and privacy of your own accommodation. You can also make arrangements to treat yourself to an on-site manicure and pedicure. It doesn't get much better than that!

I have been staying at Villas del Sol since John Ed opened and always had a wonderful time. The Staff--Romy is just great, attending to the Villas. Good restaurants nearby as is the beach. Will return every year!

We just spent three weeks at Villas del Sol with our adult children, their spouses and two toddlers under two. We were spoiled by all the attention from John Ed and Romy. Our children and their's had the vacation of their dreams. The interaction with all the other families staying through the Easter holidays will be memories forever.

The villas are beautifully maintained and an easy location for the beach and restaurants. We will refer friends and know our children will return on their own. We were so fortunate to find such a secret hideaway. We miss Romy's smile and John Ed's humor, the sunshine and blue skies.

This visit John Ed arranged a day trip on a private sail boat so that we could enjoy the whale watching and other marine life of the Bay of Banderas.

Romy, as always was efficient and made our stay wonderful. The location is a short walk to the beach for a sunset watch, to the taxi station for a quick trip to Puerto Vallarta for shopping, La Cruz to listen to the blues music at Phillo's or a scenic walk to Bucerias for the quaint village atmosphere. I highly recommend Villas del Sol for anyone wanting a taste of the real Mexico.

Villas del Sol is a delightful and welcoming environment. The friendly and warm reception of John Ed and Romy made you feel right at home. Less than five minutes to a beach that goes on for miles and a short walk up to the buses to explore Vallarta and other nearby beaches. Villas del Sol is a wonderful relaxing vacation spot. The host, John Ed Lee provides down-home personal service in a friendly and efficient manner. The villa we stayed in was very clean and outfitted with everything we could possibly need to make our stay in this quaint little pueblo enjoyable. Bright tropical blooms adorn the balconies and grounds, and the pool was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of a day in Puerto Vallarta.
