I've been renting from Hawaiian208 for 5 years, and I've stayed in numerous available units. I've never once been dissatisfied. If units are bad at the Hawaiian (and I'm certainly NOT saying that there aren't any...) they are not units that she rents. The customer service has always been phenominal, the rates are great, and she will jump to meet every available need. We have come down on business trips, rented multiple units, and not had a single problem! I am very familiar with vacation rentals, as I own property in the Carolinas. The Hawaiian, like every other condotel on the beachfront, is beginning to show signs of wear. People have to realize that upkeep is a major undertaking, and funds have to be allocated to do restorations. If the Hawaiian would raise their rates, perhaps they'd have more money to make the place look like the Taj Mahol...but just how much are you willing to pay per night? It would be a different story if they were charging 5-star rates, but they're not. Rates, even through the front desk, are comparable with every other complex there, and it's one of the few resorts with an indoor pool and nightclub there on site. The atmosphere is relaxing, the common areas are always very clean, everyone is friendly, and it's all direct oceanfront!

Go through hawaiian208 This party rents about 20 units, and they are all in excellent condition. She checks the units herself once a month, and anything that is wrong, she immediately notifies the owner. The rates are about $100 lower than the front desk, she's friendlier, and you get a sure bang for the buck! There are always extra amenities in her units, like Playstations, sterios, and metal detectors. If something is wrong, she's right on it. We've stayed at the Hawaiian since we've been married. We always come up for our anniversary, and we've NEVER had a bad unit yet! Granted, the hallways could stand a little freshening, but the hotel tries their best to stay on top of everything. For the money, I think this is the best place on the beach, with the most amenities!

Enjoyed our recent stay at the Hawaiian Inn in Daytona Beach. We rented directly from an owner and had a very nice room with ocean front balcony. The pool was very nice and had a DJ there a few days during the week that made for a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The on site miniature golf is nice and gives the kids a little something to do.

I think that there are a lot of unfair statements made by people who have rented from the front desk, and it makes the private owners look really bad. The majority of the units there are really gorgeous, both studios and one-bedrooms alike. Granted, the building has been around for awhile, but the atmosphere is one of fun, relaxation, and pure enjoyment! My suggestion is to go online and look at many of the vacation websites where the private owners are listed. (I'm not allowed to put the sites in my text, but there are literally hundreds!) We rent from the same party consistently. She has 20+ units that she rents from other owners, and always has the cleanest, nicest rooms w/extra amenities. One of the units even has a metal detector, and we were fortunate enough to find several hundreds of dollars of "missing/lost" jewelry. The rates are always much lower than the front desk (by at least $100!), and the service you get is so much more personal! We go to Daytona at least 5 times a year, and I'd never stay anywhere else but the Hawaiian Inn!

Amenities galore! We especially enjoyed the jacuzzi jets across the width of the pool! Our unit was booked by a private owner (hawaiian208.com), and even the unit had more amenities than any other place we've ever stayed! There was even a geiger counter detector for on the beach, and a PlayStation for the children! We just loved it!

Sway away in your hammock beneath the palms! Look at the size of our pool! Gift Shop for all your travel needs. Fantastic nightclub with buffet and dinner show! Boardwalk with rides, restaurants, and the ultimate shopping experience near by! One of the only drive-on beaches in the world! Free Putt-Putt for the "kids." Free shuffleboard too!
